Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) & First Aid at Work Refresher Training & ‘First Aid Appointed Person’ Half Day Workshop

This half day course, delivered by registered nurse meets the HSE strong recommendations that first-aiders undertake annual refresher training, over half a day, during any three-year certification period. It also incorporates ‘First Aid Appointed Person’ Duties & responsibilities.

The course will provide a basic understanding of emergency first aid and help qualified first-aiders maintain their basic skills and keep up to date with any changes to first-aid guidelines and procedures.

Standards of first aid

The first-aid management of injuries and illness, will be taught and refreshed in relation to the topics covered in FAW/EFAW training courses, in accordance with current guidelines published by the Resuscitation Council (UK) as recommended by the HSE.

uses interactive content (such as video and quizzes) to recap how to help:
  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including having a seizure).
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.

Anyone requiring or wanting an annual first aid refresher course in accordance with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations.

Any ‘first aid appointed person’ wishing to undertake an introduction to emergency first aid whilst understanding their role and duties.

Anyone acting as a First-Aider who has a valid first aid at work (FAW) or emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate.
