Basic life Support for Clinical Staff

This workshop meets the requirement for annual updates of clinical staff using the latest guidance for practice in emergency treatment of life-support in community and primary healthcare settings. Evidence for meeting CQC requirements for primary care and CPD documentation are given. Algorithms and practice guidelines are used with kind permission of The Resuscitation Council UK. It meets the update requirements for GPs & nurses, which need to be demonstrated for purposes of annual appraisal and revalidation.

Basic Life Support for Admin Staff

Whether individuals are new to emergency first aid or needing a refresher, this workshop meets the requirement for admin staff working health & social care settings. The session incorporates the latest guidance of basic life-support and explains the role and responsibilities of non-clinical staff working in community and primary healthcare settings. Algorithms and practice guidelines are used with kind permission of The Resuscitation Council UK.

Anaphylaxis Update

A useful session for anyone working clinically; giving immunisations, fitting IUD’s and contraceptive implants, the session covers, risk, prevalence and emergency treatment and management of anaphylaxis in primary healthcare settings. It meets the update requirements for GPs & nurses, which need to be demonstrated for purposes of annual appraisal and revalidation.

Safeguarding Children

A general child protection course specifically designed for anyone who comes into contact with children when working in health and social care settings. It covers legislation and guidance, the different types of child abuse and your responsibilities with regard to reporting concerns. It fulfils the safeguarding outcomes as specified by CQC for each individual role and can be adapted to incorporate training up to level 3 as clearly defined in the ICG “Safeguarding Children and Young People: roles and competencies for healthcare staff 2014”

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

The Care Act strengthens the requirements around safeguarding adults at risk training and this course is for anyone who comes into contact with children when working in health and social care settings. It covers legislation and guidance, the different types of abuse and individual responsibilities with regard to reporting concerns. It fulfils the safeguarding outcomes as specified by CQC for each individual role and explains what a ‘good’ practice will have in place to meet the safeguarding requirements of relevant staff competencies. It contributes to meeting the requirements for GPs & nurses, which need to be demonstrated for purposes of annual appraisal and revalidation.

Female Genital Mutilation

FGM has been illegal in the UK since 1985. In November 2015, the Act strengthened legislation by adding extra requirements for health care professionals to report FGM. This level 3 course covers how to recognise FGM abuse and how to report and manage concerns. It also incorporates how to categorise FGM and those and risk, how to share information with other healthcare professionals and how to use appropriate read codes to document FGM. It contributes to meeting the requirements for GPs & nurses, which need to be demonstrated for purposes of annual appraisal and revalidation.
